GOURMET OMEGA-3s JUST LANDED!

My Dr. Keith’s Own® line of Omega-3 Smoothies is part of a sweeping new revolution in supplement flavors: generous quantities, great taste, no additives and a good shelf life without the use of preservatives.

You can get started and thrill your taste buds right away! More to Follow… Oysters Rockefeller, Bouillabaisse, Honey Pecan Ice Cream? Who knows! But you’d better read on… especially if you don’t like smelly fish oils and krill! We’re not whales, after all!

But we still need lashings of omega-3s, to control inflammation, feed our brains and enjoy the good life, right till our last days on Earth!

Look After Your Brain With Tasty Smoothies!

According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, research shows that omega-3 fatty acids reduce inflammation and may help lower risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and arthritis. Omega-3 fatty acids are highly concentrated in the brain and appear to be important for cognitive and behavioral function (brain memory and performance). In fact, infants who do not get enough omega-3 fatty acids from their mothers during pregnancy are at risk for developing vision and nerve problems.

Symptoms of omega-3 fatty acid deficiency include fatigue, poor memory, dry skin, heart problems, mood swings or depression, and poor circulation.

Higher serum levels of serum omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are associated with healthy aging in adults, defined as survival without chronic disease, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, lung disease, or severe chronic kidney disease, a new study suggests.

Researchers measured cumulative levels of plasma omega-3s in 2600 older adults at three time points over a 13-year period and found that higher levels of long-chain omega-3s were associated with an 18% lower chance of unhealthy aging.

In particular, essential fatty acids from seafood, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosapentaenoic acid (DPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) were associated with healthier aging.

[The study was published online October 17, 2018 in BMJ and reported by Science Daily]

Cats love a fishy smell but not humans so much!

Take It Off The Spoon!

So, let’s face it. We all know Omegas are a big business. But we also know that only the cat likes the smell and taste of Omega oil. What can we do about it?

Thanks to the remarkable product platform used in the manufacture of my Omega Smoothies, which utilizes 40 different patented and patents-pending technologies, we can get rid of the fishy smell and “fish burps” entirely, WITHOUT REDUCING THE OMEGA-3 CONTENT.

Specifically, patented eSolv® technology preserves the Omega-3 EPA DHA and prevents spoiling and oxidation in the finished product. Hence, all the benefits, none of the stink.

Specifically, patented eSolv® technology preserves the Omega-3 EPA DHA and prevents spoiling and oxidation in the finished product. Hence, all the benefits, none of the stink.

Talking of taste! We have a veritable menu of choices, including peach and mango, coconut pineapple, movie theatre buttered popcorn, red apple caramel, piña colada, banana split, key lime pie and even what the Americans call “S’mores” (toasted marshmallows and Graham crackers)!

S’mores!

My favorite though is breakfast vanilla pancakes and maple syrup! It’s a great way to get your essential fatty acids in the morning and—wait for it—THIS flavor is the vegetarian option (no fish oil, just coconut MCT derivatives).

The thing to grasp is that, despite the feast of flavors, there is NO FOOD in these flavorings. Neither are there chemical fakes, like the food industry uses. These are just a nice “essence of food” flavor. Despite all the riches of taste, there is virtually ZERO SUGAR in my Omega Smoothies.

In fact, here’s a little-known scientific secret. Most food flavor comes in the fat portion. So when the world went insane on “low fat” and fat free, food tasted HORRIBLE. All the flavor vanished! The manufacturers responded by adding sugar and chemical tastes, notably MSG, which as you know is highly addictive.

NOT SO MY OMEGA SMOOTHIES! Because we have brought back the fat, as essential fatty acids, we can create gorgeous flavors without any significant food presence… just a hint of berries, pie, vanilla, pancakes, or whatever. No actual food remember.

The calories come from the omega-3s and the support liposomal-micelles (more about that in the science section below), which are actually valuable nutrients in their own right.

There will eventually be a menu of flavors. For now, I have initiated the manufacturing process with two flavors: one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian option. I’m sure you’ll like ‘em!

  • Gluten Free
  • Sugar Free
  • Dairy Free
  • Soy Free
  • Non-GMO

Organic All The Way

The State of California Department of Public Health, Food and Drug Branch, recently awarded the manufacturing facility for these Omega Smoothies with its registration as an Organic Product Processor. As a result, my manufacturer is now recognized by the State as a processor of products "sold as organic."

"This is a big deal," stated the Operations Manager. "Organic food sales were more than $43 billion in 2016, in the United States alone. And the growth from 2015 was a healthy 8.4%. Organics isn't simply a trend; it's the future of the food industry as consumers become better educated about the benefits of eating and supplementing with natural foods and products."

With the new certification, companies looking to manufacture organic functional foods, beverages and supplements now have an innovative solution to their manufacturing and processing challenges

This is great for the consumer who wants pure, clean and healthy!

Eight Good Science-Based Reasons We Need More Omega-3s As We Age!

The science backing omega-3 fatty acids benefitting a variety of health conditions is beyond debate. Omega-3s are highly effective, either as a preventative, a remedy… or BOTH!

Look at these marvelous interactions:

1. Omega-3s counteract serious mental health disorders, notably depression and anxiety.

Taking omega-3s means an individual is far less likely to be depressed. Moreover, if an individual is already exhibiting symptoms, taking omega-3 supplements significantly helps reduce the severity. [Oxid Med Cell Longev. 2014; 2014: 313570]

One study even found EPA as effective as Prozac against depression. [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2136947]

2. Omega-3s Can Improve Eye Health.

DHA, a type of omega-3, is a major structural component of the retina of your eye [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2136947]. We NEED omega-3s to avoid age degeneration of the eyes. Don’t say, “I’m not an older person”! You will be, one day! Omega-3 is linked to a reduced risk of macular degeneration, one of the world's leading causes of permanent eye damage and blindness. [Invest Ophthalmol Vis Sci. 2014 Mar 28;55(3):2010-9]

3. Omega-3s Can Dramatically Improve Risk Factors for Heart Disease.

Decades ago, researchers observed that fish-eating communities had very low rates of these diseases. This was later linked to omega-3 consumption.

There are many reasons why omega-3s benefit heart health:

  • Lower triglycerides
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Rise of so-called “good cholesterol”
  • Blood thinning: omega-3s reduce clotting time and lowers the risk of a clot.
  • Lowers inflammation. Inflammation is probably the number one cause of aging and is certainly a MAJOR risk factor for heart attack and stroke, diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimer’s, and even cancer.

IMPORTANT NOTE: we are not claiming that omega-3s can prevent heart attacks and cancer (not allowed!)

4. Omega-3s Can Reduce Symptoms of Metabolic Syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is characterized by obesity, high blood pressure, insulin resistance and disordered blood fats.

It’s very bad news. You don’t want to go there… waiting at the end of the line is diabetes and a likely heart attack.

Omega-3 has well-established benefits: useful while you get to work losing weight—which you MUST do! [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19593941]

5. Omega-3s Fight Inflammation

Inflammation is part of the normal host response to infection and injury. However, excessive or inappropriate inflammation contributes to a range of acute and chronic human diseases and is characterized by the production of inflammatory cytokines (chemical markers): including prostaglandins, thromboxanes, leukotrienes, and other inflammatory agents (e.g., reactive oxygen species), and sticky-blood molecules. Omega-3s as found in oily fish and fish oils, decrease the production of inflammatory eicosanoids, cytokines, and reactive oxygen species, etc.

You have already read that inflammation is probably the number one cause of aging and is certainly a MAJOR risk factor for heart attack and stroke, diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimer’s, etc. [Nature. 2002 Dec 19-26;420(6917):860-7]

In fact chronic inflammation can contribute to almost every chronic Western illness, including cancer. [Nature. 2002 Dec 19-26;420(6917):860-7]

We want to keep inflammation at a minimum. Omega-3s have major benefits in that regard. [Am J Clin Nutr. 2006 Jun;83(6 Suppl):1505S-1519S]

6. Benefits Age-Related Mental Decline (Alzheimer’s and Dementia)

A gradual decline in brain function is one of the unavoidable consequences of aging. However, that’s not the same as saying you can do nothing about it. You may not be as sharp mentally, as you enter your 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th decade.

But that’s a far cry from saying you have dementia. Brain health and omega-3s have gone hand in hand since time immemorial. Every Mom knows “fish is good for the brain”. That’s because of the omega-3 content. [Nat Clin Pract Neurol. 2009 Mar;5(3):140-52]

We know that people who eat fatty fish tend to have more gray matter in the brain. This is brain tissue that processes information, memories and emotions; that’s not the same as saying brain tissue give rise to our thoughts and emotions. But the connection is very important. [Am J Prev Med. 2014 Oct;47(4):444-51]

7. Omega-3 Fatty Acids May Improve Sleep

Good sleep is one of the foundations of optimal health. We know that sleep deprivation leads to many diseases, including obesity, diabetes and depression [https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/17-health-benefits-of-omega-3#section16]

Low levels of omega-3 fatty acids are associated with sleep problems in children and obstructive sleep apnea in adults.

Low levels of DHA are also linked to lower levels of the “sleep hormone” melatonin.

Studies in both children and adults reveal that supplementing with omega-3 increases the length and quality of sleep. [J Clin Sleep Med. 2014 May 15; 10(5): 567–575]

8. Reduce wrinkly and Crepey Skin!

Omega-3 Fats Are Good For Your Skin. DHA, a key omega-3, is a structural component of your skin. It is responsible for the health of cell membranes, which make up a large part of your skin.

A healthy cell membrane results in soft, moist, supple and wrinkle-free skin.

Another omega-3, EPA, also benefits your skin in several ways:

  • “moisturizing” (oil and hydration)
  • Preventing hyperkeratinization of hair follicles, which appears as the little red bumps often seen on upper arms.
  • Reducing premature aging of your skin.
  • Reducing the risk of acne.

Omega-3s can also protect your skin from sun damage and wrinkles. EPA helps block the release of substances that eat away at the collagen in your skin after sun exposure. [https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/17-health-benefits-of-omega-3#section16]

Summary

Omega-3 fatty acids are vital for optimal health. Fish consumption is the recognized way to get your omega-3s. However, if you don’t like fish, or are vegetarian, you may want to consider a supplement form as a good alternative.

My Omega-Smoothies are a tasty and efficient way to get the health benefits of omega-3s. Honestly: why wouldn’t you? This stuff is like gold or nectar to your body. Our tissues CRAVE omega-3s and we don’t get nearly enough.

And this supplement is so relatively cheap, it’s one of the best healthcare investments you can make!

More About Flavor

We all know that fish oils are great for omega-3s, notably DHA and EPA (dicosahexanoic acid and eicosapentanoic acid). The problem is the smell and taste. Manufacturers therefore wrap the oils in soft gel capsules, to spare the customer the unpleasantness.

We don’t need to disguise the taste with my Omega Smoothies! In fact we celebrate the addition of real taste, starting with breakfast vanilla and maple pancakes (vegetarian) and peach and mango flavor.

You’ll love the taste and texture of these powerful life-enhancing supplements in your mouth. Yum!

The fishy component (which is always there) is effectively removed by the patented eSolv® bicarbonate technology. This gives my smoothies a fish-free taste and up to two-years shelf life at room temperature, and keeps the omega-3 component stable and better tasting.

VEGETARIANS: Choose the breakfast pancakes option (vanilla and maple syrup). That’s made up from coconut oil (MCTs), vegetarian DHA omega-3, non-GMO canola (rapeseed) oil, and whey protein isolate. (not suitable for vegans)

Now Some REAL Science

You know how those hair care products slip in a few twirls of science, so you can get some grasp of why the product is supposed to be so wonderful? Well, let’s go the same route here…

Technically, the magic of this Omega Smoothie supplement is that it is micelle-liposomal. Most people have heard of liposomal delivery these days. It helps protect and facilitate the assimilation of the active ingredients in products similar to food so they can be better absorbed, much like active ingredients found in food and nature, but it doesn’t end there.

The micelles which encapsulate the active ingredient (micelles are like smooth soapy suspensions called a surfactant) utilizes vitamin E as a lipid, unlike the usual formulation of phosphatidylcholine. Vitamin E adds a powerful antioxidant function, which in turn protects the omega-3s from turning rancid. Dr. Keith’s Liposomal Micellular Active ingredient is as much as 140 times more effective as an antioxidant that just vitamin C (which is pretty good anyway). That’s one of the main reasons this product has a very long shelf life. It’s in suspension in time, as well as in micelles!
