What technology does the Aquatru use to filter water?
4 step Reverse osmosis with carbon block filter. Since carbon filters vary dramatically in effectiveness, Aquatru uses the BEST and most expensive carbon block filter.
How long do the filters last? Does my Aquatru come with the first set of filters?
The pre-filter will last six months. The Reverse Osmosis filter will last two years or 1200 gallons, whichever comes first. The final carbon VOC filter will last one year or 600 gallons, whichever comes first. Yes, a new Aquatru comes with one set of filters.
How much do the tanks hold?
The tap water tank holds about a gallon (3.8 liters) of water. The clean water tank holds about 3 quarts (2.8 liters) of purified water.
What is the source of the carbon in the carbon filters?
Coconut Shell Activated Carbon
What is the efficiency rate of the Aquatru?
The AquaTru is the most efficient RO drinking water appliance in the world - an incredible 65-75 % Recovery. The "% RECOVERY" of an RO system is the volume of pure RO water that passes through the membrane compared to the tap water fed into it. The difference goes down the drain. Conventional RO systems are about 15 - 25%= very wasteful. This means that conventional RO systems produce 1.5 to 2.5 gallons of purified water for every 10 gallons put into it. The AquaTru produces 6.5 to 7.5 gallons out of every 10 gallons.
What is the rate of filtration? How fast is it?
The AquaTru purifies 1 gallon of water in 12-15 minutes. And because it uses a pressure pump to push the water through the reverse osmosis membrane, cost for electricity is negligible.
What are the dimensions?
14′′ Tall x 14′′ Deep x 12′′ Wide
What type of plastic is used in the Aquatru Tanks?
The Aquatru uses BPA-free TRITAN polymer -the same used for the VITAMIX food processor. Feel free to immediately transfer your purified water into a glass container for
Can I use AquaTru to filter ocean or lake water?
No, it is not recommended.
Are there any contraindications?
Anyone who is currently dealing with high blood pressure or is on dialysis should not take Hypertonic, as it has a higher concentration compared to Isotonic. As always, make sure your Doctor is aware of what you are taking.
