Fewer People Are Dying From Cancer (say the Headlines)

Keith Scott-Mumby

Are WE winning the war against cancer (holistic practitioners, that is)? We all know that orthodox medicine is NOT winning the war. But they claim that death rates are going down (true for many common cancers) and, of course, they take the credit. Overall, cancer death rates decreased by 1.8% per year among men and by 1.4% per year among women from 2000 to 2009. Death rates among children up to 14 years of age decreased by 1.8% per year. Let me suggest a likely reason. For that, I need to bring in a second headline, published the same day: because of the recession, fewer people are visiting the doctor; it’s too costly. Well, I have always said, if you want to stay healthy, stay away from doctors! So here’s my suggestion: more patients are avoiding orthodox medicine, so cancer survival rates are improving! I already revealed in my book Cancer Research Secrets, that—left alone—many cancers will recover spontaneously. It’s more than a suspicion that doctors create the real cancer problem and that the treatment is worse than the disease!

Tamoxifen Restores Telomeres and Reverses Aging

Keith Scott-Mumby

Would You Take Tamoxifen To Live Longer? I’m sure your automatic answer is, “No way”! But you might think about it a little longer if you got some interesting new science under your belt. Thing is, according to a quite good scientific trial from Harvard: tamoxifen-compounds can actually REVERSE aging. The mice in question re-grew brain tissue, reversed cognitive decline, restored fertility, got rid of grey hairs (yes, mice go grey too!) and improved in other incredible ways. This is so unbelievable that I read the article twice. “These were animals that were really at the brink of kicking the bucket,” said Dr. Ronald DePinho, director of the Belfer Institute at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and senior author of the paper published in the prestigious journal Nature. “We were expecting to slow or perhaps stabilize the aging process. Instead, we saw a dramatic reversal in the symptoms of aging.” Sure, Internet marketers make claims about reversing aging. I do! If you eat right you can shed years in how you look and how you feel. You will look and feel younger. But I’m talking about real age reversal now, growing back telomeres, which will restore decades of potential life. Not only that but the restorative process kicked in with the laboratory animals, enabling them to re-grow healthy testicles, spleen, liver and nervous system. Their shaggy, grey, broken-down fur re-grew into a silky smooth coat of much younger mice!

The Top 10 Most Unpleasant Sounds

Keith Scott-Mumby

This almost got an “honorable mention” in my stupid science series! But I admit I read it all, so it must be interesting! What do you think are the 10 most horrible sounds that can be heard? The sound of nails on a chalkboard or screams may send shivers down the spine for a good reason. A new study shows annoying sounds trigger a highly emotional response in the brain. Researchers found the part of the brain that regulates emotions, the amygdala, appears to take over the hearing part of the brain when people hear an extremely annoying sound. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), researchers looked at activity in the brains of 13 healthy volunteers when they heard a range of 74 different sounds. The participants rated each sound from most annoying or unpleasant to pleasant.

Future Astronauts May Be Exposed To Alzheimer’s Risk Factor

Keith Scott-Mumby

This is a headline I saw on the medical news wire. Couldn’t resist a peep at it! It seems we’ve moved into the age of astro-medicine! But there is an underlying hypocrisy here: apparently radiation in space is bad for you, but down here one Earth, scientists assure us, similar radiation from cell phones and […]

Bisexual Men Find It Stressful To Lie

Keith Scott-Mumby

Do I care? I’m not homophobic or anti the bisexual lifestyle (never tried either homosexuality or bi-swinging, since I have great taste in WONDERFUL women!) But I am anti-lying and secrecy, especially in this context. It unquestionably puts a woman at risk when her partner is bisexual and (in effect) promiscuous. I think that’s despicable. What’s got Prof. going on this, you may ask? A new paper suggesting bisexual men have higher rates of mental health problems than gay men do, and the speculation by researchers that this burden might stem from their desire to keep their “on the side” sexual relationships with men secret. Researchers evaluated the mental health of more than 200 bisexual men in the New York City area, over the age of 18, who were married to or in a relationship with a woman and had had sex with a man in the past year. None of the men had told their female partner about their same-sex relationship. The study found that men who were afraid of people finding out were more likely to experience depression and anxiety and lack positive feelings. Serves you right would sound too unkind. But I’m not sympathetic.
