Fake Prostate Cancers Removed From The Stats

Keith Scott-Mumby

We are accustomed to the convenient (and lucrative) massaging of statistics that goes on around cancer. The public relations “war” is all about impressing the public and channeling them into the dollars machine, with fear and dread of cancer. Even so, it was quite startling to read that, since the PSA test has been discredited and not used too much, the “incidence” of early stage prostate cancer in older men has plummeted by 25%. See if you follow my reasoning, which is:  there are fewer fake cancers being funneled into the system? That’s pretty shocking. It follows on my repeated advice, which is stay away from doctors. What they call “screening”, fishermen would call casting their nets wider.

Doctors Make Mistakes? Can We Talk About That?

Keith Scott-Mumby

Dr. Brian Goldman talks about the mistakes doctors make. In any other profession, we accept a proportion of goofs. Stuff happens. But in the medical profession, goofs are not allowed! It can cost someone their life…

The Cut-Up-Food Diet

Keith Scott-Mumby

Call it the cut-up-food-diet: We feel full faster, and eat less later, when our food is served in small pieces. Cut up your food and chew it properly, every Mum worth her salt knows that. But it seems eating smaller mouthfuls is another way to lose weight. It works in both college students and lab […]

Careful Of Those Dangerous Nutrients Warns Alzheimer’s Association!

Keith Scott-Mumby

Anyone who hasn’t realized that the Alzheimer’s Association is a drug industry shill, there to push worthless drugs like Aricept, just isn’t cynical enough for today’s world! They hate nutritional therapy. In Sri Lanka, I was blocked from addressing an AA meeting, once they knew I was to talk about vital nutrition. Now patients are warned about a daily drink combining several nutrients which may help people with early Alzheimer’s disease improve their memory, according to a new study. Of course the Alzheimer’s Association attacked it. “More research is needed before such a deadly drink could be made available to the public. And, even then, consumers should exercise caution,” said William Thies, vice president for medical and scientific affairs at the Alzheimer’s Association! As Alzheimer’s progresses, patients lose their memory as synapses (connections between brain cells) deteriorate, according to background information included in the study. The new drink, called Souvenaid, may actually stimulate the growth of new synapses, said the drink’s inventor, Massachusetts Institute of Technology scientist Dr. Richard Wurtman. Nutricia, a division of Dannon, the food people, sponsored the study. MIT has a patent on Souvenaid, and Nutricia has the exclusive license on the patent. So of course they are excited about it. Imagine getting a patent on Nature’s healthy molecules!

Vitamin K3 Drug Effective Against End-Stage Cancer

Keith Scott-Mumby

You know, I keep saying that some of my orthodox colleagues are coming round to our way of thinking. I dissociate myself from silly, petulant “holistic” writers who think everything is evil about conventional cancer treatment. For the twentieth time or more, I repeat: there are some great doctors out there, trying hard. Not everyone is corrupted by Big Pharma. Now even the FDA is playing ball with them! I’m talking now about a novel combination of vitamin C and vitamin K3 called Apatone. It selectively targets tumors by entering cancer cells as readily as glucose. It then suppresses certain inflammatory reactions that cancer cells use to escape destruction by chemotherapy agents. When administered prior to chemo, vitamin K3 appears to decrease the resistance to chemo drugs. It has helped prostate cancer patients, who were getting no help from chemo, to start making progress knocking out the cancer. That’s vitamin C and vitamin K3 at work. According to Science News, “This non-toxic approach weakens and kills cancers in a novel way.”1 In fact quite a few studies published since 2008 have shown vitamins K2 and K3 to be intriguing agents in both cancer prevention and treatment. In a March 2008 study, Apatone significantly slowed the cancer; 16 our of 17 patients responded positively (no chemo agent can equal that!) Moreover, of the 15 patients who continued to take it, only one death occurred after 14 months of treatment. The doses were: 5,000 mg of vitamin C and 50 mg of vitamin K3. The doctors concluded that Apatone showed promise in delaying biochemical progression in this group of end stage prostate cancer patients.2

The Forgotten Vitamin

Keith Scott-Mumby

Vitamin K, the “forgotten” vitamin, is actually a mixture of two natural forms: K1 and K2. There are synthetic forms: K3 – K5 and it may appear that these can be somewhat toxic. Vitamin K was identified in 1929 by Danish scientist Henrik Dam. He found deficiency of vitamin K caused spontaneous hemorrhages (bleeding) and restoring levels of K returned the blood to normal. It was named vitamin K, from the German word Koagulation (clotting); nothing to do with the sequence of letters starting A, B, C, D, etc. Warfarin (Coumadin®) is an anticoagulant drug that works by inhibiting normal vitamin K function in the body. But the price for doing that is very high, as we shall see. Vitamin K was also called phylloquinone or phytomenadione. It is synthesized by plants, is found in green leafy vegetables, and can be found in soybean oil. Well, I learned about that over 40 years ago in med school. But knowledge has progressed by leaps and bounds since then.
