Chromium and confusion

Keith Scott-Mumby

You may have noticed that confusion and conflict start to show, when even expert writers are talking about chromium. That’s a sure sign that knowledge is not really concrete. Dr. Al Sears, for example, a writer I admire, is telling us in one newsletter we can get chromium from beef (true) and then a couple weeks later is telling us their isn’t much chromium in beef and grains (also true). Chromium made pigs lean he said. One study took commercial pigs and fed them chromium, and measured significant fat reduction. Researchers changed nothing else about the pigs … all they did was give them chromium and they got leaner (less fat) and gained muscle. 1 Another study at the University of Kentucky found much the same thing. They added chromium to the diet of pigs and got an “increased percentage of muscle and decreased percentage of fat.”2  But then other quality websites swing the opposite way. According to the Linus Pauling Institute, at Oregon State University, studies show that chromium is of little use in losing weight. The studies they quote clearly showed that; but were they holding back on the studies that DID show chromium helps lose weight?

Drunk on potato, are you kidding me?

Keith Scott-Mumby

Let me back up a bit. I browse a lot of books in thrift stores (Oxfam shops for you Brits!) I get to find wonderful, old, often out-of-print books that I otherwise wouldn’t hear of. Bonus? They cost $1 or $2 at most! I found one only this morning, called “The Dictionary of Misconceptions”. Author Tom Burnam does a good job of dispelling myths and misconceptions. Like for example, that the deepest canyon in the world is NOT the Grand Canyon. It’s a myth that Americans love to believe. But the Copper Canyon in Mexico, is bigger, deeper and longer! Shhhh! Anyway, Burnam points out that, even in the USA, Hell’s Canyon on the Snake River between Idaho and Oregon, is half a mile deeper than the Grand Canyon. Another tourist B*S* myth bites the dust! No, I’m not doing geography today. There is a point…. Which is the Burnam, for all his good work, then messes up badly by stating, categorically: “It is absolutely untrue that different drinks which contain identical amounts of absolute alcohol can have different intoxicating qualities”.

Total Cure For Diabetes Rejected By Doctors

Keith Scott-Mumby

This is another “I Told ‘Em!” Something I’ve been saying for decades and now science is beginning to prove I was right all along! For nearly 40 years I’ve been asking why diabetics are given “lines” of carbohydrate and told to eat it and then take their insulin to reduce it!  If diabetes is a disease which cannot safely handle carbs, why is God’s name tell patients to eat the stuff? It has never made sense. I’ve cured thousands of diabetics by simply saying “Do not eat carbohydrates.” A great many of them came off insulin altogether. Now a new study has shown that a very low-calorie diet of 600 calories a day totally reverses type 2 diabetes. Eleven people who had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes within the past four years slashed their calories for eight weeks, sticking to liquid diet drinks and non-starchy vegetables. After one week on the diet, participants’ fasting blood sugar levels were no longer elevated.

Is It Really True Our Kids Won’t Live As Long As Their Parents?

Keith Scott-Mumby

I don’t know how exciting US survival figures are for the rest of the world. But they probably contain a hidden message for us all. I’ve heard it said that we are the first generation that will live longer than our children. Well, that trend is already under weigh (correct spelling for lifting anchor, despite silly “English” Professor Paul Brians at Washington State University) and other developed countries are likely to follow suit. However many Westernized countries are getting better, while the USA is getting worse. “The gap between the U.S. and the 10 countries in the world that have the best life expectancies — places like Australia, Canada, Sweden and Japan — is widening,” said Dr. Christopher Murray, lead author of the new report, published online June 15 in Population Health Metrics. “There’s really no reason we can’t keep pace with those other countries. We spend more on health care. We have the best health research in the world. That was a real shock.” There’s his first mistake and a BIG one. The USA does not have the world’s best health research. It has dishonest, self-serving crap as supposed science. It’s killing its citizens; yet he calls it the best? Try and get across health advice here which goes against the profits of Monsanto, the Agribusiness or the pharmaceutical industry and see where it gets you! It won’t be ignored—you’ll be ATTACKED on television as a baby eater and communist, all bought and paid for by business interests. Hardly an honest, helpful paper into health and longevity ever gets published here. All we see is mindless paper mill rubbish trotted out by universities and hospitals, which are under the thumb of Big Pharma. It’s not science at all—it’s just slick marketing disguised as “studies”.

How Hidden Chronic Infections Cause Many Surprise Diseases

Keith Scott-Mumby

Here is an informative past article of mine that is worth reading again. Enjoy!   These days we know that aging is as much about inflammation as anything else. Infections and inflammation are never very far apart. It has become clear that many chronic, under-the-radar infections that linger in the body produce the steady, destructive, […]

Alzheimer’s And Diet Latest

Keith Scott-Mumby

It’s obvious that Alzheimer’s is a diet and lifestyle disease. A Mediterranean-type diet, for instance, is known to be protective against dementia. If there was any doubt, a recent study has made it plain. In a 4-week diet intervention study, healthy cognitively intact older adults who stuck to a low-saturated-fat, low-glycemic-index diet experienced decreases in […]
