Too Much TV Kills

Keith Scott-Mumby

I used to love those American things, where somebody calculated that every passionate kiss took 7 minutes off your life! Well, apparently, every hour of TV will knock 22 minutes off your life! Mind you, American TV is so dire it takes away the will to live! Ha ha… But this research is from Australia. […] The post Too Much TV Kills appeared first on Dr. Keith Scott-Mumby.

Hip to Waist Ratio TODAY!

Keith Scott-Mumby

I want you to take a tape measure and measure your waist. Don’t cheat or breathe in! Let it hang out. Then measure the largest circumference of your hips and note down the two figures. Your waist should be LESS than your hips. Preferably a couple of inches less. The reason is that yet another study has suggested that waist-to-hip ratio is much more sensitive than body mass index (BMI) at predicting risk of subsequent coronary disease. Writing in an early online edition of Circulation, Dr Dexter Canoy (University of Cambridge, UK) and colleagues report that increased abdominal obesity — measured in terms of waist-to-hip ratio, was more “consistently and strongly” predictive of coronary heart disease (CHD) than BMI among men and women participating in the European Prospective Investigation Into Cancer and Nutrition in Norfolk (EPIC-NORFOLK) study. “In our study, in men who were obese and had lower waist-to-hip ratios, their rates of CHD tended to be slightly lower than if they had high waist-to-hip ratios.” Coney said. “But in women, at all levels of BMI, waist-to-hip ratios were strongly predictive of heart disease.” [my italics, KS-M] The study showed that even if we take into account habits like smoking, alcohol intake, or sedentary lifestyle, and we take into account what we already know are important predictors of CHD such as hypertension and dyslipidemia, you will still have an excess risk of a heart attack, if you have a higher than 1.0 waist-to-hip ratio. Waist circumference alone was also a fair predictor of CHD events, but not nearly as accurate as taking the ratio of waist and hips together. Other recent studies have also shown that this is the best predictive measure we have.

Doctor Fido Will See You Now!

Keith Scott-Mumby

Dogs smell cancers! I first learned of the ability of dogs to sniff out cancers from a letter published in the prestigious Lancet. It cited a story of a woman whose dog constantly sniffed at a mole on her leg. On one occasion, the dog even tried to bite the lesion off. The constant attention from the dog prompted her to seek medical advice and when the path lab report came back, it was found to be a malignant melanoma! Since it was caught early, the patient recovered fully from this very dangerous cancer and has remained well, with no sign of recurrence. The dog saved her life. In another instance, a man aged 66 years developed a patch of eczema on the outer side of his left thigh, which grew slowly over 18 years, to about 1–2 cm in diameter. When dry, the lesion would become scabby, and it caused occasional itching. Various doctors tried treating it with steroids and antifungal creams, without any benefit. Then a pet Labrador arrived in the home and the dog began to persistently push his nose against his owner’s trouser leg, sniffing the skin lesion beneath it. This prompted the patient to return to his family physician for review. An excision biopsy (removal) showed it to be a basal cell carcinoma. After it was gone, the dog showed no further interest in the area, so the animal was definitely reacting because of the pathology. [Williams H, Pembroke A. Sniffer dogs in the melanoma clinic?. Lancet 1989; 1: 734.]

Nogier’s Ear Acupuncture

Keith Scott-Mumby

Paul Nogier Acupuncture System Auriculo-acupuncture: Surely one of the best kept secrets in alternative health In my groundbreaking book “Virtual Medicine” (1999), I introduced readers to a healing sensation. It was a body-mapping energy medicine system that allows anyone to practice simple acupuncture healing. What’s more it can be done on self, at home! With it, you can “unlock” the body’s own “pharmacy” to relieve pain, reduce high blood pressure, quit smoking permanently, revive low sex drive and effectively treat hundreds of other health problems and diseases, from lumbago to depression, from alcoholism to pancreatitis. There is simply nothing like this therapy, discovered by a French genius doctor. And you’ll be surprised when you find out which leading medical-related organizations recognize and/or approve the treatment, even here in the U.S.

Veggies No Longer Nourishing

Keith Scott-Mumby

They keep telling us to eat 5 servings of veggies a day, as if that is all you need. We are told to eat a “balanced diet”, as if that contains all the nutrients that are vital to health. That’s based on lousy opinion, from 50 years ago, when nutritional science had hardly started. Even if it was true then (it wasn’t), in 2011 that advice is deadly and flawed. According to expert Heinrich Elmer, today you would need 10 servings of vegetables to equal just one serving from 50 years ago!1 Hidden Hunger “Vitamin and mineral deficiency is the source of the most massive ‘hidden hunger’ and malnutrition in the world today. The ‘hidden hunger’ due to micronutrient deficiency does not produce hunger as we know it.” said UNICEF’s Deputy Executive Director Mr. Kul C. Gautam, at a press conference at UNICEF House on 24th March 2004.

Cancer Cure Success Rate

Keith Scott-Mumby

Interview by film director Marcus Freudenmann (Cancer Is Curable NOW) Just a day after my return I was interviewed by Kevin Gianni from the Renegade Health Show for the international cancer summit. (I will tell you about this cancer summit in a later newsletter) In this interview Kevin asked me about the success rate of certain treatments and if the doctors or clinics we have visited, had given us some insights on long term success. Inspired by this question I thought to elaborate on this subject today. It is ridiculous that we think that doctors can give us a warranty. Imagine you drive your car on rough terrain  without checking the tire pressure, cooling water, air filters, oil filters, breaking fluid or anything else. You are in a bad mood and show that in your driving style, You are generally in a rush and don’t have time to cool down. And on top of that you drive with low quality fuel, old oil and a leaking old battery. Then the car breaks down. Steam from under the hood and you are devastated. “HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO ME????”    ” I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG!!!!!!” So you run to the car mechanic and ask him to fix the damage. “But please hurry. I have very little time”

A Really Useful Vaccine

Keith Scott-Mumby

Well, potentially. It’s a vaccine designed to immunize a person against the “high” that is induced by heroin. Taking the drug will no longer help the addict get their accustomed thrill and so, it is hoped, he or she will quit the habit relatively easily. See, vaccines work; not all—but you’d think when reading the tirades by ignorant and medically untrained fools on the Internet that all vaccines were evil and didn’t work any way. I’ve said many times that I am happy there is a rabies vaccine, while living in the world. For its development Louis Pasteur deserves credit and acclaim for all time. Those who rant against his supposed cupidity are themselves twisted, jealous and big time liars.
