Calcium Dangers and Really Stupid Science

Keith Scott-Mumby

My regular friends (readers) will know I often denounce calcium in no uncertain terms. While other doctors dole it out as necessary or “advisable”, I have been in print many times to say calcium is the last thing you want much of in your body. Stupid (I mean REALLY stupid) science supposedly showing that osteoporosis is caused by lack of calcium and all you have to do is pump calcium into the blood and the bones will magically fill up again and go hard is as crazy as it sounds! Osteoporosis, as a matter of fact, is caused by a number of things, none of which are lack of calcium! Magnesium deficiency is a much more significant contributor. But really, osteoporosis is a whole-body nutritional disease, with no one single factor to blame. If it could be boiled down to just one substance, then I think I would pick on boron. Women taking 3 mgs a day of boron need never fear osteoporosis (unless it is already present). But calcium deficiency? Definitely NOT. Yet doctors go on pumping this stuff into trusting patients, in blyth disregard of the fact that in almost all other situations, calcium is dangerous! Seriously!

Mumps Vaccination Proved Worthless

Keith Scott-Mumby

I’m not against vaccination, as regular readers will know. I’m just against useless and dangerous vaccination. Even dangerous vaccines, such as that for rabies, have a place, where the disease is hideous and the protection worth the risk. The rabies vaccine does work! If you want to know what hydrophobia looks like (terror of water; one of the symptoms of rabies, see this short video on YouTube: But what about mumps? Hardly a deadly disease in fit children. The worrisome complication is orchitis (inflamed testicles), which can lead to male sterility. Then, the vaccine isn’t notorious (like measles, pertussis and flu). But what’s the point if it doesn’t work? A recent study published in The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) reveals that a large proportion of children affected by a mumps outbreak in 2009 had already been vaccinated for the condition in accordance with recommended government guidelines.

Tamiflu OK To Give To Infants says FDA Jail Bait

Keith Scott-Mumby

Tamiflu Scam – 2 Despite the fact that it is hazardous and there is no reliable scientific evidence that Tamiflu has any benefits whatever, the creeps at the FDA are now saying children as young as 2 weeks old may now be treated for the flu with Tamiflu. This isn’t bad science; this is criminal intrigue. We need some jail time for these birds. The FDA expanded its approval today for Tamiflu to include infants under age 1 who have had symptoms of the flu, such as stuffy nose, cough, sore throat, fever, and body aches, for no longer than two days. At least they are not saying it can prevent flu infection in this age group. Of course, it does no good in any age group.

The Tamiflu Scam – 1

Keith Scott-Mumby

We all know that Tamiflu is a scam. But we are so used to these things being criminally hushed-up, that it comes as quite a shock when one of the world’s leading medical journals accuses Roche of massaging data to make their drug look effective when it isn’t. The British Medical Journal (BMJ) has alleged that pharmaceutical giant Roche is deliberately hiding clinical trial data about the efficacy of Tamiflu in patients with influenza. According to experts writing for the BMJ, global stockpiling and routine use of the drug are not supported by solid evidence [meaning it’s worthless and doesn’t work]. Moreover, the BMJ openly accuses Roche of concealing neurological and psychiatric adverse events caused by Tamiflu. In an open letter published online October 29th, Fiona Godlee, MD, editor-in-chief of BMJ, writing to Dr. John Bell, Professor of Medicine at Oxford University and a Roche board member, told him of concerns that surfaced years ago about the reliability of Tamiflu research.

Is Fruit Sugar Bad For Us?

Keith Scott-Mumby

We know fructose, the main sugar from fruit, it very toxic to the liver. Does that mean we shouldn’t be eating fruit? Nah! It means eat moderately. Think of yourself as a caveman or cavewoman wandering through he forest, gathering and nibbling berries and roots. Eat at about that rate. What’s wrong with our modern living is that we can go to a supermarket and buy a whole week’s food and then eat the entire packet in hours. That’s not natural. Eating some grapes, crunching an apple, followed by a few nuts, a couple of dried apricots an hour or two later… that’s hunter-gatherer style eating. What’s really unnatural, of course, is eating concentrated fruit sugars; meaning high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS). Fructose is a simple sugar found in fruits and vegetables. It also is combined with glucose to manufacture high-fructose corn syrup, a sweetener in many packaged foods such as cereal and soda. That’s very bad and we know it damages the liver. I doubt it does the rest of the body much good either. Now a new test has been suggested, to monitor levels of uric acid and a reduction in liver energy stores. High uric acid, or hyperuricemia (like gout), is linked to lower levels of liver adenosine triphosphate (ATP), a compound involved in transferring energy between cells. The researchers, who published their new report in the September issue of the journal Hepatology, noted that energy depletion in the liver could result in liver damage for those with the metabolic condition known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and in those at risk for the condition. They stressed that the public should be aware of these risks associated with a diet high in fructose.
