The Secret of Food Allergy Test Dieting

Keith Scott-Mumby

The secret of successful identification of food allergies – which I discussed in my last post – is to give up sufficient foods to be able to feel well, then to re-introduce these foods one at a time, so that detecting a reaction is relatively easy. We call this elimination and challenge dieting. It rarely […] The post The Secret of Food Allergy Test Dieting appeared first on Dr. Keith Scott-Mumby.

How to Identify Food Allergies and Intolerances

Keith Scott-Mumby

I almost invariably recommend a patient with a high score from the inventory of symptoms start by trying to identify any food allergies and intolerances. If you have not yet looked at the inventory of symptoms, do so first and see how you score. This is not to say that everything is a food allergy. […]

The Laetrile Scam

Keith Scott-Mumby

Testimonials Are Not Science Just writing about Sir Robert McCarrison and The Hunzas he so famously studied has prompted me to enter a word about the apricot kernels and amygdalin/laetrile scam (read that piece here) Several promoters are making fortunes by promoting amygdalin, laetrile and so-called “B17” as a cancer treatment. It’s fake; don’t fall […]

Lucky Rats Get Hunza Treatment

Keith Scott-Mumby

In November, 1921, a great English physician, Sir Robert McCarrison (after whom the McCarrison Society for Nutrition and Health is named), visited the USA at the invitation of the University of Pittsburgh, to deliver the annual sixth Mellon Lecture before the Society for Biological Research. The subject of his paper was “Faulty Food in Relation to Gastro-Intestinal Disorders,” and its salient points centered on the marvelous health and robustness of the Hunzas, who dwell on the northwestern border of what was then British India (now Pakistan). The sturdy, mountaineer Hunzas are a light-complexioned race of people, much fairer of skin than the natives of the northern plains of India. They claim descent from three soldiers of Alexander the Great who lost their way in one of the precipitous gorges of the Himalayas. They always refer to themselves as Hunzukuts and to their land as Hunza, but ignorant modern writers insist on calling the people Hunzas. Most of the people of Hunza are Ismaili Muslims, followers of His Highness the Aga Khan. The local language is Brushuski. Urdu and English are also understood by most of people. The Hunza valley is one of huge glaciers and towering mountains, below which are ice-fields, boulder-strewn torrents and frozen streams. The lower levels are transformed into verdant gardens in summertime. Narrow roads cling to the crumbling sides of forbidding precipices, which present sheer drops of thousands of feet, with many spots subject to dangerously recurrent bombardments of rock fragments from overhanging masses. The Hunzas live on a seven-mile line at an elevation of five or six hundred feet from the bottom of a deep cleft between two towering mountain ranges. Some of the glaciers in this section of the world are among the largest known outside the Arctic region. The average height of the mountains is 20,000 feet, with some peaks, such as Rakaposhi, which dominates the whole region, soaring as high as 25,000—a spectacle of breath-taking beauty, too steep to hold snow and usually scarfed by clouds. Because of the scarcity of food, supplies and transport, the region has been closed to the general public and special permission is required to enter it. Travellers to the region have thus been few but those who have seen the wonder of Hunza have returned with glowing tales of the charm and buoyant health of this people.

The Tragedy Of Angelina Jolie’s Tits

Keith Scott-Mumby

[Tits; short for teats, mammary glands, breasts] Medical science has moved forward to Mengele-style* Nazi mutilations, in the name of “medicine”. I am ashamed of my profession in this.To mutilate a woman’s body in the crazed belief that this is somehow helping her is beyond obscene or laughable; for once I can’t think of any words to fit. Incompetence is one thing; ignorance is another; there is folly and delusion; but this? It beggars description. Why am I so incensed? Because it is unnecessary. It comes from fear and ignorance and the silly notion that genes are the ruling condition of health and that, once you have the gene, you are screwed, effectively. I know different: I know that genes can be turned on and off easily, like a light switch. I have done it thousands of times. Genes mean almost nothing. In this case having the gene does not mean you will get breast cancer and moreover not having the gene still means that you could get the cancer. YOU control your genes; or in this case, she does. So why pay attention to genes?

Bacteria flood our bodies and may be the real cause of arthritis

Keith Scott-Mumby

Bacteria, Arthritis and Real Aging You may or may not know that joint inflammation, these days, is seen as often directly due to micro-organisms within the joint itself. Bacteria get in there, raise hell; inflammation and pain is the result and we call it “arthritis”. It has little to do with age and “wear-and-tear”, which is the medical school model! This realization that an actual physical infection leads to arthritis is relatively new. Over the years, I’ve cured thousands of arthritis cases, using the food allergy/elimination approach. So, how could that be? It’s not counter-intuitive. If you eliminate stress foods, the immune system recovers from the overload and is better able to deal with the invader germs. Less joint inflammation is the result. Remember my lifetime saying (one of dozens!!), that you don’t need zero burden to get zero symptoms; you just have to reduce the overload to the point where the body can cope. Step back within the threshold limits and the body recovers. Anyway, a new controversy has erupted from this topic. Dr. Hanne B. Albert and colleagues of the Spine Centre of Southern Denmark have found that a significant number of back pain sufferers will benefit from a course of antibiotics. Of course, Dr. Albert’s colleagues are stupefied and attack her relentlessly because her finding “cannot be true”. Nobody these days seems interested in what actually works; just what fits in with current dogma. The dogma is more important than clinical results, per se.

Poison Attack On The White House

Keith Scott-Mumby

Ricin Is Deadly Poisonous A news item caught my eye, about attempted attacks on President Obama and others, using the castor oil bean toxin called ricin. I wrote about this years ago (1993) in my book of that year The Complete Guide to Food And Environmental Allergies, which was published by Thorson’s, now an imprint of Harper Collins. Here’s an extract from that writing:Nature has seen fit to endow a number of plants with the capacity to synthesize substances that are toxic to humans and other animals. Humans are probably only able to tolerate the majority of foods because of the discovery of fire, which cooks away toxins (although several plant toxins are heat-stable). Farmers and veterinarians have known for years that animals become sick if they graze on certain types of plant (for example, bulls become enraged if they eat loco weed – ‘loco’ being Spanish for crazy). Many plant substances are toxic to humans in quite small quantities, including deadly nightshade, acorns and hemlock. Ricin, the toxic principle in caster seeds (Ricinus communis), is one of the most deadly poisons known: a minute drop on the tip of a needle was used in an infamous political assassination on the streets of London in 1978. The fact is that all plants, including edible ones, contain quantities of poisons. Carrots, for example, contain a nerve toxin: caratotoxin. And someone once pointed out that if cabbage had to undergo the tests that drugs are now subjected to before being pronounced fit for humans, it wouldn’t pass. Obviously, most often the amounts of poison in foods are tolerable. Toxicity is a matter of degree.
